Government Grants & Rebates
As of April 2007, Natural Resources Canada offered a rebate to homeowners who take steps to improve the energy efficiency of their homes, thereby reducing their impact on the environment. ecoENERGY Initiatives help Canadians use energy more efficiently, boost renewable energy supplies and develop cleaner energy technologies. Under this new ecoENERGY retrofit, homeowners who replace existing doors, windows, and skylights with newer units rated for their ENERGY STAR ® climate zones are eligible for a $30 grant reimbursement per opening.
If you booked your appointment for a pre-retrofit evaluation, have completed an evaluation or applied for re-entry to the program before March 31, 2010 you remain eligible to apply for a grant.
